ABS for compact motor cycle developed, adopted in YAMAHA GDR155

ADVICS CO., LTD. (headquartered in Kariya, Aichi, President Satoshi Ogiso) announces the development of ABS for compact motor cycles. This product has been adopted to the model [GDR155] of Yamaha Motor Co., LTD. that is targeted to the markets in Associate of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
ABS for motor cycle is the technology that can prevent wheel lock during breaking on various types of road surface to support better control of the motor cycle by the rider.
ADVICS has expanded its product line-up by developing the new ABS for small motor cycles in addition to the current ABS for larger motor cycles.
In this product, Reduction in size and weight were achieved by redesigning the configuration and shape of the actuator to fit smaller motor cycles.  This product can be adopted to many more models as front wheel ABS.
Installation of ABS for motor cycle has been mandatory in EU countries.  In Japan, ABS will be mandatory for all new models of motor cycles starting October 2018.  By October 2021, ABS will be mandatory to all newly manufactured motor cycles.
ADVICS will keep providing the products like ABS for smaller motor cycles in order to reduce the number of accident and create safer driving environment.
